Safety

 

Greengel Cooker Gel is an organic-based product, made from sugar cane, a renewable energy source. Greengel Cooker Gel does not emit toxic gasses when burning, is safer when swallowed or inhaled compared to other fuels and can even be used as an antiseptic to skin wounds as its main ingredient is ethanol.

Greengel has a gel texture that makes spillage easy to contain and control. As the gel only burns on its surface, flame height is consistent. Greengel will not explode if spilled when lit. Greengel gel, when burning, can be extinguished by simply blowing out its flame.

The Greengel Stove range is strong and easy to use. The stove's flat surface design, together with the use of Greengel Cooker Gel makes it much safer than traditional Paraffin stoves.

The Greengel Lamp is the lighting solution from Greengel. This unique lamp is made from plastic, making it difficult to break and spill the Greengel Lamp oil should it be knocked over. The body of the lamp is also designed with flat edges so that it is easy to hold and will not roll far should it fall onto a floor.

Should Greengel Lamp oil spill, it will not catch a light if exposed to a naked flame (the oil has a flash point of 118° Celsius). This safety feature of the oil is a significant development in preventing the alarming number of shack fires and resultant burn injuries.
 

  

Health

 

Greengel is odourless when burning. Other fuels emit a strong odor when burning, which often affects the taste of the food being prepared. Greengel gel fuel does not change the taste of the food being prepared, even if this food is prepared directly on Greengel’s open flame.  

  

Efficiency and Cost

 

Greengel gel fuel burns up to twice as long as other liquid fuels. Litre for litre, Greengel’s price compares favourably to other liquid fuels. This makes Greengel Cooker Gel the most cost-effective and safest fuel available to informal housing residents and the needy.

Greengel Cooker Gel will bring water to boiling point in eight minutes. One litre of the Greengel Cooker Gel will burn for a minimum of four and a half hours, almost twice as long as liquid fuels commonly used today.

Greengel Stove range consists of quality products at affordable prices. Due to the design of of the Greengel Stove, the life span is longer than ordinary Paraffin stoves.

Greengel Lamp oil will burn for up to 60 hours per 500ml in a standard Greengel Lamp. The Greengel Lamp burns as brightly as the light of two candles.
